Eventually, it was discovered that a wizard was to blame for all that had happened. Hyrule's tranquility was shattered by the arrival of several disasters, which brought opaque, ominous clouds with them. The violet one is taken from the Blue Ring's effect from the original NES game which was the first defense upgrade.
